Assessment
Mount Pleasant School has an assessment system that follows each child from entry to their last day in school and provides teachers and pupils with next steps in learning and enables pupils to be directly involved in their learning.
Statutory Assessments
Early Years, FS1 and FS2 are assessed using Development Matters against their age from birth to 60 months. The outcomes of FS2 are assessed and reported to MoD Schools HQ against the Early Learning Goals, this is a requirement for all children who will be 5 years old on, or before, 31 August 2018.
All pupils who have reached the end of year 1 must take the Phonics check. This includes pupils registered at maintained nursery schools who will reach the age of 6 before the end of the school year, the equivalent age to those pupils in year 1 at primary and infant schools. Pupils in year 2 must also take the check if they:
- didn’t meet the required standard in year 1
- haven’t taken it before
The outcomes are reported to parents and MoD Schools HQ .
In Year 2, The tests are designed to be used with all pupils who have completed the KS1 programme of study and are working at the overall standard of the tests. This means that if pupils are considered to be able to answer the easiest questions, they should be entered for the test. The outcomes are reported to parents and MoD Schools HQ .
In Year 6, the tests are designed to be used with all pupils who have completed the KS2 programme of study and are working at the overall standard of the tests. This means that if pupils are considered to be able to answer the easiest questions, they should be entered for the test. The outcomes are reported to parents and MoD Schools HQ .
